KOINONIA is the Greek word for fellowship. It is close mutual relationships, partnership, sharing, participating, contributing, it is a gift of community. Everyone is invited to join Zion Baptist for the opportunity to fellowship, connect, and build relationships with others. In our Koinonia Retreat we will learn how our relationship with God can help us better our relationship with others, our family, spouse, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. There will be plenty of ‘koinonia’ opportunities through sharing meals, playing cards, going on hikes, and watching a show at Flatrock Theater.
Folks can sign up to stay 1 Night, 2 Nights, or come up for the day on Saturday. Some meals will be included. The Koinonia Retreat is flexible to best fit your schedule. Lodging Space is limited so sign up as soon as you can.
Tentative Schedule
Friday 5pm– Leave Church (Folks can also meet us later at Retreat Center)
6:00pm– Arrive at Bonclarken Conference Center—Founders South
6:30pm– Supper in the Dining Hall (All Meals Buffet style)
8-9pm—Session I
9pm—until—Games, Cards, Snacks…
Saturday 8am—Breakfast in the Dining Hall
9-10am– Session II
10:00-10:30—Break
10:30-11:30—Session III
12:00—Lunch in the Dining Hall
1-6pm— Free Time (Volleyball, soccer, frisbee golf, golf, hiking (dupont forest), napping, shopping.
6pm—Dinner (in town or if at retreat center)
8-10pm—Million Dollar Quarter, Show at Flatrock Theater
10-11pm—Travel home (for those staying 1 night or for day only)
Sunday 8am—Breakfast
9am– Devotion
10:30– Checkout
Zion Baptist will be staying in Founders Hall South.. These newly renovated rooms each have two queen size beds..
