Visitors

Welcome to Zion Baptist Church.

We are a fellowship of believers seeking to live out our faith.  Our mission is to be the presence of Christ to those in our community and beyond.  We strive to serve others in need, showing them God’s love by being the Hands and Feet of Christ.

One of the best ways to describe Zion Baptist Church is “family”.  Family is where you are related or connected together in a common way.  Family is where you can share together the joys of life.  Family is helping each other through the burdens and challenges life brings.  Family knows you well and is a place where you can be yourself.  Family is a place of comfort and peace.  Family is genuine community.

We are glad for your visit and would be happy to share more with you about our church family.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call.  You can contact the church office or one of our staff ministers from our ministry team page.  Again welcome!

Frequently Asked Questions-

What’s your Sunday Schedule?  Our typical Sunday begins with a time of fellowship around 9:40 am.  Folks gather in the welcome center to visit, in various Sunday School class rooms, or in our small dining area for Connections Cafe (a time of fellowship, coffee, and delicious cake.)  Sunday School begins around 9:50 am, (depending on your class, our rule of thumb is you are never late.)  Our worship begins at 11:00 am and lasts until noon.  Sunday evening we have activities for youth beginning at 5:30 pm.  Our youth gather for supper and Bible study until 7:00 pm.

Where do I go when I arrive?  If you are planning to attend Sunday School you can park in the rear of the church and enter our Welcome Center, (the doors under the breeze way.)  There will be a greeter to welcome you and direct you to Sunday School classes for you and your family.  If you are planning to attend worship, you can park in the front or side parking lots of the church and enter in the front of our sanctuary.

What should I wear on Sunday?  You are welcome to wear whatever makes you most comfortable, there is no dress code.  Some folks will be dressed in coats and ties while others will be dressed more casual.  It’s not important what you wear, we are simply honored with your presence.

How do you describe worship?  We gather to worship our Creator out of gratitude and humility.  We gather to thank God for our many blessings, to praise God for His love and guidance.  We gather to celebrate!  Our worship services are blending, incorporating some traditional elements with a current focus.  We experience worship through Hymns, music, prayers, scripture, silent meditation, giving, and thought provoking sermons.  Our goal is to leave worship as changed people ready to go and serve our loving God.

What do you offer children during worship?  We provide nursery care for infants and toddlers during Sunday School and worship in our children’s area, (located on the ground floor.)  Preschoolers are welcome to worship with the church family, then following our Offertory Hymn they are invited to attend Children’s Church.  Parents can pick up their children in the children’s area after worship.  You are also welcome to have your children stay with you during worship, we love to have children of all ages make a joyful noise with us.
